May 23rd World Melanoma Day

20/05/2022

Melanoma is a skin cancer, one of the tumors with the highest incidence in humans. It has its origin on the skin surface, specifically in the melanocytes, the cells that give the skin its dark color. In general, they can be easily visible.

In recent years, the number of cases has increased, possibly due to sun exposure habits.

Its preventable and curable if it is diagnosed early.

We can all contribute in biomedical research progress. If you wish you can donate the left over material after diagnosis obtained during the treatment process (blood samples, biological liquids and tissue) for carrying out biomedical research without causing you any additional inconvenience. There is a network of biobanks managing human biological samples for biomedical research.
