This year, the Hospital del Mar Medical Research Institute (IMIM) has been one of the centers that has initiated the new cycle in which a total of 11 research centers will participate. On this occasion, La Marató has chosen the project of Dr. Montse Fitó, coordinator of the Research Group on cardiovascular risk and nutrition. The visit consisted of an initial explanation about how operates La Marató, a little history of the center and an explanation of all processes that the research project has followed, data collection, storage, data management and processing in the laboratory, then how works the Biobank, the management and custody of the samples and the relevance of the Informed Consent in biomedical research.
